TL;DR:
‘Show message previews in your chat list’ is a new way to make better use of space on the rail when looking at chat. It also improves privacy by hiding the first line of your messages. Available now.
Details:
Chat density Comfy and Compact options have been available since early 2022. The compact option allows you to see more chat content in the main arena. This new option in Settings > General > Chat Density allows you to see more chats on the rail by hiding the preview.
Availability:
Available now in classic Teams desktop and web (late June 2023). Date TBC for new Teams.
