Microsoft Teams’ Copilot will soon use meeting chat as a data source to provide answers from chat and transcript data for 24 hours either side of the meeting. Due late August to early September 2024.

Currently, Copilot in Teams uses only the meeting transcript, if available. Soon, it will also use the meeting chat as a data source to answer questions from meeting invitees.

Copilot can access the chat data 24 hours before, during, and 24 hours after a meeting.

The new prompt Highlights from meeting chat will indicate that Copilot can answer questions using both chat and transcript data:
