Short Version
The Copilot summary at the top of Word documents will soon gain new tabs in addition to the Summary tab: Insights, Activity, Discussion and Coaching. Due late April to August 2025.

Details
If you have a Copilot licence and you open a Word document, you will see the option to view a summary (or snapshot) of the document at the top:

This summary is to become the first of five tabs in the new document snapshot:

Let’s look at each of these tabs:

Summary – Choose the level of summary detail – brief, standard, or detailed. The detailed summary will support up to 3000 pages in a document, an upgrade from the previous cap of 300 pages. A version of this is available now, with the enhancements rolling out in April/May 2025.

Insights – A quick view of key numbers in the document. Due late April 2025 for Web and from July 2025 for desktop.

Activity – See what has changed in the document since you opened it. You can also view what’s happened over the last 3 days, 1 week or 2 weeks. Due mid-May 2025 for Web and from July 2025 for desktop.

Discussion – See a summary of all active comments and discussions. Due mid-May 2025 for Web and around August 2025 for desktop.

Coaching – View suggestions to improve your document. Due June 2025 for Web, a date for desktop is to be confirmed.
