Microsoft is introducing a new way to create structured documents using Microsoft Forms and SharePoint. Due early to late February 2026.

Microsoft say this capability will help you and your organisation generate standardised, compliant documents with a simple form-driven experience for high-volume document workflows. The person who creates and configures structured document forms will require an M365 Copilot license. It does not appear that the person completing the form will need a Copilot licence.
This looks like a great way for users to create documents easily and quickly, and for organisations to maintain the template governance they need.
Start by editing content and applying advanced template customisations, including conditional sections in Word:

Then review and refine AI-suggested fields before publishing:

Your colleague completes the Form:

The document is created, stored in your chosen location in SharePoint, and a copy is emailed to the user:
