Have you ever searched a Microsoft Teams 1 to 1 chat only to realise that the thing you are looking for is ‘somewhere’ else in Teams? You’ll like this.

TL;DR
Microsoft Teams chat search will soon allow you to expand your chat search to content from across the whole of Teams. Due date to be confirmed.

Details
As you read this update, keep in mind that a 1 to 1 chat is between you and one other named person.

Before this rollout, results for a search in a 1 to 1 chat would be confined to that chat.

After this rollout, you will see options to expand the search across Teams.

The first option is to search across Teams for your original search term AND the other person’s name.

The second option is to search for content across Teams based only on the other person’s name.
