Emails are written by a sender and read by a recipient(s); it has been that way for decades. Will this change make emails ‘live’ and truly collaborative?
TL;DR:
Loop components are live, interactive, collaborative objects that you can embed in Microsoft Teams chats and they are coming to Outlook! When you send a Loop component, everyone in the email can edit it inline, and see changes instantly. You’ll also be able to copy and paste components between email and Teams chats. Live in Outlook on the web. Now due for Outlook desktop November to late December 2022.
Details:
You will be alerted of the new feature via a teaching callout, you can then start using loop components to collaborate. No other Outlook features will be affected.
When you compose a new email or reply to an existing one, you’ll be able to insert a loop component via the toolbar or copy and paste components between email and Teams chats. That means you can collaborate right inside an email message.
Note the Q&A and Voting Table components in the above screenshot. Will these also be coming to Teams soon?
