TL;DR:
The new Microsoft Teams files app brings a new experience to allow you to access all your content from chat, channels and meetings as well as from OneDrive and SharePoint. Due early to mid-April 2023.

Details:
Before we look at what’s new, here’s a reminder of the classic look:

The updated menu bar is intended to help you navigate to your content quickly:

  • Home: Your recently accessed files (previously Recent)
  • My files: Your personal OneDrive files (previously OneDrive)
  • Shared: Files shared with you and files you have shared across Microsoft 365 (sort of the old Microsoft Teams view, but now includes the whole of M365)
  • Downloads: Locate files downloaded from Teams on your computer (no change)
  • Quick Access: Pin document libraries or channels files tab to access them quickly (new)

The existing Files app that is enabled by default will automatically be updated with new files app experience.

Availability:
Due early to mid-April 2023.
