TL;DR
You will be able to adjust the width of Teams windows. Due in January 2025 for some, a date for the rest of us is to be confirmed.

Details
You will soon be able to reduce the main Teams window, the chat window, and the meeting stage to 360px wide or 502px wide, compared to the current minimum supported dimensions of 720px wide, with no loss of functionality.

Window widths can be manually adjusted:

…and will auto-resize when the main Teams app is resized:

Microsoft says this update enhances accessibility with better zooming capabilities.

Initially due on Windows 11 and macOS desktops, this update reads as if resizing will apply to more windows/panels in Teams when it is released.

Availability
The targeted release will be in January 2025; a date for the rest of us to see this update is to be confirmed.
