Short Version
M365 Copilot (paid) in PowerPoint will soon let you choose an AI model (including OpenAI and Claude) when creating and editing a presentation. Due early April to early May 2026.
Details
Microsoft has onboarded Anthropic as a sub-processor for Microsoft Online Services. This means that you will soon be able to choose Claude when using AI in M365 (M365 Copilot, Researcher, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Excel, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). This post covers this option in PowerPoint.
If you are an M365 user with a paid M365 Copilot licence, you will soon be able to choose which AI model to use when creating or editing presentations in PowerPoint. Microsoft states that this provides “additional flexibility while maintaining existing security, compliance, and admin controls”.
To switch models, open the Copilot pane and use the dropdown menu in the top-right corner to select a model (1). The default selection is Auto (2):

Important note: if you are within the EU Data Boundary or in the UK, Anthropic models are disabled by default and need to be enabled by your M365 admin. For everyone else (excluding GCC, GCC High, DoD), this will be available by default.
