Short Version
The Notebooks experience in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app is changing. Chats, generated content, and reference materials for a project will be grouped together in one view. Now due mid to late July to mid-August 2026.

Details
The update groups your chats, generated content, and reference materials for a project into a single workspace called a Notebook. Content created from a Notebook, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Copilot Pages, stays linked to that Notebook.

Notebooks in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app will sync with Notebooks in OneNote, and you will be able to open a Notebook in either place.

The existing Notebooks experience in OneNote is not changing. Looking for the familiar Copilot Notebook experience? Head to the Copilot Notebooks OneNote:

You will need a Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium licence to use Notebooks in the Copilot app.
