TL;DR:
SharePoint users, you will soon be able to start creating Pages and News posts as an action from the SharePoint app bar. Is this slightly quicker access to the creation process worth the extra options the Create bar? The more I look at the screenshots, the more I think ‘yes’. Due early to late May 2023.

Details:
This new feature allows you to create Pages and News from the SharePoint app bar. To use: select the Create command on the app bar and then select News post or Page:



You will be prompted to select a destination where you want to create the page or news post.

  • Current site: When launching the Create command from the app bar, the service will verify that you have permission to edit
  • Recent sites: You can select Recent Sites to see sites where you have edit permissions to create a page or news post:


  • Search for a site: You can search for a site to create a page or news post. If no sites were found matching the query where you have edit permissions, you’ll be guided to explore sites on the start page:


The SharePoint app bar cannot be customised.
