You will soon be able to change your display name during a Microsoft Teams meeting.
Key points:
- This name change is for the duration of the meeting only and does not affect your People card.
- This feature is off by default for all tenants. Admins can turn it on for everyone or select end users for their organisation.
- If turned on for the tenant, a meeting organiser must turn the feature on for the meeting in Meeting options > Let people edit their display name.
- Edited names will be identifiable by an ‘edited’ label next to them (see second image below).
- Meeting artefacts such as the attendee report will not show the name edit but the original name of the attendee.
If turned on for your meeting, you can join the meeting and then select People at the top of the screen to edit your display names in the Participants panel:
