TL;DR
The Files tab in Teams Chat is to be renamed to Shared and gets upcoming features like image previews and keyword search. Due mid to late July 2024.
Details
The old Files tab displayed one list of files shared in the chat and did not include links.
The new Shared tab will include recent files and shared links. Shortly after rollout, it will offer image previews for links and keyword search for finding content. A later version will include media links (images, videos, GIFs, etc.).
