TL;DR
Collaborative Loop components, which you may know from Teams chats, are coming to channels. You will be able to create, share, and edit components to collaborate without leaving your channel conversation. Copy and paste Loop components between channels and other locations and apps across M365 and always see the latest updates. Now due November 2023 to late January 2024.

Details
You will be able to create Loop components in posts and replies by composing a message and clicking “Collaborate with Loop”. Loop components created in Teams channels are stored in the channel’s SharePoint site allowing people in the channel to access the component and making the component easy to find later. If a component is created and sent within the channel, you can access it in the Files tab. If a component is pasted into and sent within the channel, you can also access it from across Microsoft 365.

Will Loop in channels look like this mock-up?

Notes:

  • Loop in Channel will be available in standard, private, and shared channels. Users external to an organisation will not be able to view or edit the Loop component
  • Microsoft will be supporting viewing a Loop in Channels in iOS and iPadOS, but not Android at this time – users will see a link and be able to open in Web. You are able to create Loop components in Channels from Desktop or Web, but not mobile.
