Short Version
The Meet app in Microsoft Teams is being renamed and redesigned as Events, bringing webinars, town halls, and custom events together into one unified experience with a centralised hub for creating, editing, and tracking events. Due mid-June to late July 2026.

Details
The Meet app is being renamed Events (1), and redesigned around a single, streamlined workflow for creating, discovering, and managing events. A centralised Events hub lets you create, edit, and track events in different stages, and simplified scheduling templates cover custom events, webinars, and town halls in one place.

When you create a custom event using Create from scratch, Teams automatically applies the appropriate policy set: Town hall policies for broadcast-type events, and Webinar policies for collaborative ones. You’ll also be able to schedule events using shared and delegate mailboxes, and attendees get event landing pages with Q&A and polls built in. A redesigned Events home helps people discover and revisit events, and there’s a seamless upgrade path for anything already set up as a Webinar or Town hall.

Your current Meetings experience is not affected by this change. Audio recaps have also moved out of the Meet app and into the new Teams Recap app, so if you use audio recaps.

Availability
Due mid-June to late July 2026.
