Microsoft made two big Copilot announcements on 15th January:

  • For individuals: the new Copilot Pro will be available at home for £19 per month, get it here
  • For business & enterprise: the 300-seat minimum purchase has been removed. Copliot is now being offered to Office 365 E3 and E5 customers (previously Microsoft 365 customers only), buy via Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider partners. Not just for the enterprise; you can now purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Microsoft 365 Business Premium for $30 per month, buy now in the Admin Centre)

For individuals and families, Microsoft has announced Copilot Pro, their paid Copilot offering for individuals. Key points:

  • A new subscription offering the most advanced features and capabilities of Microsoft Copilot to individuals
  • Provides advanced help with writing, coding, designing, researching or learning
  • A single AI experience that runs across all of your devices (web, PC, across your apps and (soon) on your phone 
  • Microsoft 365 Personal and family subscribers can use Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC, Mac and iPad
  • Provides access to GPT-4 Turbo during peak times for faster performance
  • Enhanced AI image creation with Image Creator from Designer
  • Coming soon: build your own Copilot GPT tailored for a specific topic using Copilot GPT Builder

For business and enterprise, Microsoft has removed the 300 minimum and other limitations;

  • The 300-seat minimum purchase has been removed
  • Small businesses with Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard can purchase 1 to 299 seats for $30 per person per month – order now in your Admin Centre:


  • Commercial customers can now purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365 via Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider partners
  • Works across all of your data — including emails, meetings, chats, documents, plus the web
  • Integrates with your apps – including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams

What can Copilot do?
Here’s a nice example from Microsoft: “With natural language prompts like “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” Copilot can generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails and chat threads”.
