With Microsoft 365 Copilot in PowerPoint, you will soon be able to reference Excel files as you create slides, making it easier to add data to your presentations.

Reference an Excel file when selecting New Slide with Copilot” from the PowerPoint ribbon or Add a slide” from the Copilot button above the slide:


Key points:

  • Reference one Excel file at a time when creating a slide
  • The Excel file must be stored in OneDrive
  • Recommended maximum file size is 24MB
  • Include a topic in your prompt to focus the slide content
  • Create slides that include charts or tables based on the Excel data
  • You need a Microsoft 365 E3/E5 licence, plus a Copilot license
  • Coming to PowerPoint on Web, Windows and Mac
