The Researcher agent was previously accessible via the left navigation as a standalone experience in the Copilot app. It will soon also appear as a button in the M365 Copilot Prompt Box across Microsoft 365 apps, including Teams, Outlook, and Copilot Chat.
Notes from Microsoft:
- “Combines OpenAI’s deep research model with Copilot’s orchestration and search capabilities.
- Can reason over work and web data, including third-party data via connectors or other agents.
- No changes to existing functionality—this is an additional entry point for easier access”
A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required for this update.
