Short Version
You can now share an entire Copilot chat session or a single response with a link, letting colleagues in your organisation view it and pick up the conversation in their own chat, no copying and pasting required. Due late August to early September 2026.

This is one of those small conveniences that will make a genuine difference in how teams work with Copilot day to day. Being able to hand someone a link to a chat session or a specific answer, in context, is far more useful than pasting a chunk of text into an email or a Teams message, and it’s honest about where the content came from too. Anyone opening the link can see it’s a Copilot session or response, so there’s no need to caveat it yourself, the source is clear without you having to say a word.
It is also a nice, gentle way to show reluctant Copilot users how useful it can be. If a colleague asks you for help with something Copilot can easily solve, sharing the session or response lets them see it working in context, rather than you trying to explain it to them second hand.
Session sharing shares the whole conversation, giving recipients the full context of how you got to an answer. Response sharing shares just one specific answer, useful when only the end result matters. Recipients in your organisation open shared content in a read-only view, and can continue the conversation from that point in their own Copilot chat.
Session sharing only captures the conversation as it existed at the moment you create the link. Anything you add afterwards stays private and isn’t included in what you’ve shared:
Sharing a session or response doesn’t grant access to any files, emails, meetings, chats, or other content referenced within it. Existing permissions still apply, so if a recipient couldn’t already see a referenced file, sharing the chat doesn’t change that.
