In SharePoint Online, the Table toolbar is a new toolbar to utilise table functionality, including Table Styles.
Features will include merge, split, add space before and after, and more. The Table toolbar will adjust by expanding or compressing based on the section layout used. When compressed, the table options move into the overflow (…) button.
