TL;DR
Microsoft Teams group chat members will soon be able to add and use Microsoft 365 Copilot agents in those group chats…even people who do not have a Copilot license unless your organisation block this. Due early to early to mid-February 2025.
Details
After this rollout, go to the updated group chat participants control and select Add agents and bots:
Add agents or bots opens a view of agents you can add to the group chat. Previously installed agents that can be used in the group chat are shown first, followed by new agents that can be installed. For additional agents, select Get more apps in the bottom right:
Microsoft: “Users do not require a Copilot license to use this feature”.
