Short Version
The new Recap app in Microsoft Teams is coming in July 2026, bringing your meeting recordings, transcripts, and AI summaries together in one place. You’ll be able to filter meetings, watch video recaps, or listen to audio recaps, including a combined audio recap across multiple meetings. Now due early July to early August 2026.
Details
The Recap app will be available in Teams from the app store in the left rail/app bar. Once you open it, you’ll be able to browse meeting recaps from the past 30 days, filtering by date, participants, or keywords to find the right meeting quickly. You can watch video recaps or listen to audio recaps, and you’ll even be able to generate a combined audio recap that pulls together multiple meetings into a single listen.

AI features, including audio recap, video recap, and intelligent summaries, require a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. If you don’t have a Copilot licence, you’ll still be able to access recordings and transcripts. The app will be pre-installed in Teams but not pinned. To find it, select Apps from the left rail and search for Recap. Mobile support is coming soon.
