Microsoft continue to improve Stream for videos on OneDrive and SharePoint. This latest feature provides new caption capabilities.

Short version:
If you are a Stream user and have edit rights to a video on OneDrive or SharePoint, you will soon be able to navigate to Media Settings in the player and use the Transcript and captions setting to upload, download, edit and delete a captions file. Due early to late April 2022.

Details:
If you have edit permission to a video stored in OneDrive for Business or a SharePoint document library, this new feature will enable you to upload captions in the WebVTT file format. This feature will also let you download a Teams Live Transcript as a WebVTT file. You will then be able to edit that file in a text (such as notepad) or VTT editor and re-upload it to provide more accurate captions and transcript for your recording.

Any viewer of a video with a transcript will be able to use the Closed Captions button to view the transcript as closed captions inside the video player or in the transcript pane next to the video.

Availability:
Due early to late April 2022.
