TL;DR:
Whiteboard users will soon be able to use a wide range of colours for inking using the latest colour picker feature. A slider will also be provided to change opacity level of pens. Coming to Whiteboard for the web, Microsoft Teams, Windows App & Surface Hubs/MTR experiences and annotations in Teams meetings. Now due early June to mid-August 2023.

Microsoft: “Users can add new colors to the palette and enjoy more color options for inking in Whiteboard. In addition to the color picker feature, we have also added a slider to change opacity level of pens. Recent colors used will also be available on the color palette and the color picker feature, to further enhance user experience with inking in Whiteboard”.
