The M365 Chat app in Microsoft Teams Chat is being replaced by an upgraded version labelled Copilot.
Microsoft tells us the new experience keeps all the previous functionality, along with these improvements:
- Better prompts, including details specific to you like the people you work with, your meetings, and your files.
- Ability to see your Copilot chat history
- Access to a library of prompts via Copilot Lab
Previous chat history from M365 Chat will not be transferred to the Copilot app, copy/save any prompts or responses as needed.
Availability
Users will start seeing a banner notifying them of this change from early March.
Rolling out now, the transition will be complete by 30th April 2024.
