Microsoft is introducing an agent to create SharePoint lists “via natural language”. Due late January to late February 2026.

Microsoft will introduce the M365 Copilot SharePoint list agent, enabling you to create SharePoint lists through natural language conversations and automatically convert structured content, such as tables generated by Copilot into lists.
Key points:
- For users who have a M365 Copilot license
- Installed and ON by default for organisations with Microsoft 365 Copilot, unless they disable it
- Allows you to create SharePoint lists directly from supported Copilot-enabled apps
- Generate lists from Copilot conversations or structured Copilot content in one step
- Save lists to a SharePoint site or your OneDrive
