Copilot Search in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app is getting an improved summarised answer at the top of your search results. The answer will be shorter and easier to scan, and you’ll be able to continue straight into Copilot chat with full context preserved. Due late July to late August 2026.

When you search in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on web or desktop, you’ll see a shorter, more scannable summarised answer above your results (1). The update also brings a clearer prompt to the right sidebar, making it easier to continue in Copilot chat. When you do, full context is preserved so you can explore details or ask follow-up questions.
