TL;DR
The Microsoft 365 app will be renamed the Microsoft 365 Copilot app along with other changes. Due mid-January 2025.

Details
The following changes are coming to the Microsoft 365 app accessed at www.microsoft365.com:

  1. The app will be renamed the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
  2. URL changes from office.com and microsoft365.com to m365.cloud.microsoft.
  3. Icon will change.
  4. The app will no longer have a top header. Tools like user profile, settings, and feedback will move to the bottom left toolbar. This also means your organisational logo will no longer be shown on this page.
  5. The search box will be presented on the homepage (there is no change in functionality; only the placement is changing).
  6. All the apps on the left toolbar will be aligned to the top. AI-rich experiences like Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and Copilot Pages will be presented together to establish correlation.
  7. The ‘My Day’ feature is being removed from the app experience, and users will no longer see the button to launch the calendar and to-do on the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
  8. The ‘Help me create’ feature (found at https://www.microsoft365.com/create) will be retired from the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.


These changes do not affect other Microsoft 365 apps.
