TL;DR
The Microsoft 365 app will be renamed the Microsoft 365 Copilot app along with other changes. Due mid-January 2025.
Details
The following changes are coming to the Microsoft 365 app accessed at www.microsoft365.com:
- The app will be renamed the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
- URL changes from office.com and microsoft365.com to m365.cloud.microsoft.
- Icon will change.
- The app will no longer have a top header. Tools like user profile, settings, and feedback will move to the bottom left toolbar. This also means your organisational logo will no longer be shown on this page.
- The search box will be presented on the homepage (there is no change in functionality; only the placement is changing).
- All the apps on the left toolbar will be aligned to the top. AI-rich experiences like Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and Copilot Pages will be presented together to establish correlation.
- The ‘My Day’ feature is being removed from the app experience, and users will no longer see the button to launch the calendar and to-do on the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
- The ‘Help me create’ feature (found at https://www.microsoft365.com/create) will be retired from the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
These changes do not affect other Microsoft 365 apps.
