Microsoft will introduce a new Filmstrip layout for the SharePoint News web part, giving you an additional layout option for displaying news. The Filmstrip layout displays news posts in a large, visually prominent format to improve discoverability.
The Filmstrip layout shows a carousel of cards, but unlike the Carousel layout, the cards will change size dynamically as it animates through the available news items.

Due mid-May to late June 2026.
