Short Version
In PowerPoint, the Copilot icon will replace the Sparkle icon as the method for starting a presentation or slide using Copilot. Due mid-March to mid-April.

Details
In PowerPoint, you currently click on the Sparkle icon above a slide create a presentation or slide using Copilot:

These steps are being replaced by the steps below (copy-pasted from Microsoft, with minor edits):

  1. Start a new presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Click on the Copilot icon in the lower right-hand corner of PowerPoint to open the Copilot chat pane:

  1. Click on the Plus menu (+):

  1. Select Agent Mode in the drop-down menu:

  1. Prompt in your usual style to give Copilot a description of the presentation you’d like to draft.

In isolation, looking only at PowerPoint, this does not look like the simplification Microsoft claims, but it does achieve a more consistent creation process across different apps… so it will probably be better for users in the long term.

Availability
Due mid-March to mid-April.
