🚫 Retirement of Power BI Q&A
Microsoft: “We are announcing the retirement of Q&A, Power BI’s legacy natural language tool. Starting December 2026, Q&A experiences will be retired. Moving forward, users can leverage Power BI Copilot, which offers a more advanced and integrated solution for querying data using generative AI. This change reduces feature overlap, accelerates innovation, and provides a consistent experience across Power BI”.

🚫 Power BI: End of support for on-prem SharePoint web part
Microsoft: “We are ending support for the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Report Viewer SharePoint Webpart feature. This change aligns with our efforts to simplify integration and improve reliability by using modern embedding methods. Instead of the Webpart, we recommend embedding SSRS reports in SharePoint using URL parameters”.

🚫 Microsoft Lens app will retire
Microsoft will retire the Microsoft Lens app from iOS and Android through a phased approach starting on 9th January 2026. Microsoft recommended using the OneDrive app’s scanning capability instead. The app will be removed from app stores on 9th February 2026. If you already have the app installed on your device, you can continue using the scanning capability until 9th March 2026; after this date, you will no longer be able to create new scans. You will continue to be able to access your existing scans from the My Scans section while the app remains installed on your device, although this capability will no longer be supported by Microsoft. To access past scans, you must be signed in to the last active account used in the Microsoft Lens app.
