Forms

Allow up to 5 million Responses per Form/Quiz
The number of responses allowed per Form/Quiz is being increased from 50,000 to 5 million. Forms that exceed 50,000 responses will not have all of the same functionality online but can continue to collect responses and have those responses exported via .csv for further review. Due early March to early April.

Microsoft Forms new App “Polls” in Teams
To provide a better experience we are delivering a new Teams app specifically for polling capabilities. This new app will be discoverable in Teams meetings/chats as “Polls”. On hold pending additional changes. Read the full article.


OneDrive

Move your shortcuts in OneDrive
You will soon be able to move OneDrive shortcuts you’ve added using “Add shortcut to OneDrive” to any folder in your OneDrive. Due mid to late February 2022. Read the full article.

Delayed: New Command Bar in OneDrive
This great looking OneDrive/SharePoint web viewer update will allow you to easily identify the right file, focus on content and access primary commands. Due late September to early October for most of us. Now due early to mid-February 2022.  Read the full article.

Delayed: Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint Library dropdown menu
Microsoft are adding a dropdown menu that allows you to easily switch between multiple document libraries associated with a team or site. When you select a team or site within OneDrive, you’ll be taken to the default document library instead of a list of document libraries to choose from. Now due mid-February to early March 2022. Delayed: OneDrive: Sharing experience – “Copy Link”
Instead of a Copy link button, you’ll see an entire section where you can set permissions for the link and then copy it to share it with recipients. If you need to update the link permissions, you can do it directly from the Link Created dialog box as well. Now due by late January.


Outlook

Org Explorer in Outlook: View and navigate the organisation chart.
This new release of Org Explorer brings a new experience to Outlook Desktop. It will help you visualise and explore your company’s internal structure, work teams, and individual roles. This change can be previewed with the return of the Coming Soon toggle. Due early February to late April for users with the Coming Soon toggle in Outlook for Windows.


SharePoint

It’s back! New Microsoft 365 Lists entry point in the SharePoint app bar
Resources in the SharePoint app bar will be expanding to include an entry point to Microsoft 365 Lists. Back from ‘on hold’ and now due late January to early February 2022.

Delayed: SharePoint: Updates to the site creation experience.
We will be updating the site creation experience to make it easier for site creators to select the right type of SharePoint site, understand roles, and site permissions. Updates to this experience will include refreshed graphics, expanded site descriptions, and additional context for different permission levels in the Site permissions panel. Now due early March. Stream

Comment on a video or audio file in SharePoint and OneDrive
This new feature allows you to have threaded conversations on a video or audio filed saved in OneDrive or SharePoint. Due early to late February for most of us. Read the full article.

On-Demand Caption and Transcript Generation
If you have edit permission to a video stored in OneDrive for Business or a SharePoint document library, this new feature will enable you to generate a transcript in English. Viewers will then be able to display your transcript as closed captions or within the transcript pane. Due early to late April 2022. Read the full article.


Teams

Pin a Teams chat message
This new feature will enable you to pin a specific Teams chat message to the top of the chat window. Due mid to late February 2022. Read the full article.


Around Microsoft 365

Filters upgrade on Microsoft search
Microsoft search ‘out of the box’ filters “File Type” and “Last Modified” will soon be getting an upgrade. These filters are moving from the right panel to the top of the results list. This should help you to notice and use these filters more easily. Read the full article.

Monthly active users for Microsoft 365 service changes
The Microsoft Message Centre is where changes to Microsoft 365 apps and services such as Teams, SharePoint and Outlook are announced and explained. Soon, these posts will include the monthly active users (MAU) specific to the Microsoft 365 change being discussed. This change will help your organisation to decide which changes they should prioritise and tell you about. Due late-January to mid-February 2022. Read the full article.

Delayed: Power Apps to display images from Microsoft Lists
Power Apps image controls can now display images that are stored in image columns in Microsoft Lists. Images can be displayed in four sizes: small, medium, large, or full. Due early to mid-March. Read the full article.
