Do you find features in the modern version of Stream a bit limited? You’ll be pleased to hear that Microsoft continue to improve Stream built on SharePoint.

Short version:
If you have edit permissions to a video stored in OneDrive for Business or a SharePoint document library, you will be able to generate a closed caption file in English. Any viewer of the video will then be able to display the transcript as closed captions. Due early to late January for most users.

Details:
To generate a transcript on a video navigate to Media Settings in the player and use the Transcript and captions setting to generate captions in English. Once the transcript has been generated, you will be able to refresh the page to see the file and turn on Transcript and captions to display the file as closed captions for their video. You will also be able to delete the caption file.

Viewers of your video will be able to show captions during playback via the Closed Captions button

Availability:
Due early to late January. Not all colleagues will receive this feature at the same time.
