TL;DR
You will soon be able to sync your own Microsoft Forms results to an Excel spreadsheet in your OneDrive. Opening the workbook using Excel for the web will trigger an automatic sync with the Forms data. Due late January to early March 2024 with a Preview label.

Details

Experience:

  • You can create an Excel workbook in your own OneDrive directly from the form or quiz responses page
  • Form responses will automatically sync to a table within the Excel workbook, allowing you to manipulate the data
  • New responses will continue to sync while the workbook is open in Excel for the web
  • Excel coauthors will also receive automatic updates for synced responses in Excel for the web

Notes:

  • Live data sync is available only in Excel for the web. If you want to analyse the data in the desktop app, ensure the file is also open in Excel for the web to receive automatic updates
  • Edit permissions for the form/quiz and the synced Excel workbook are independent. The form author must grant permissions separately
  • This feature is only for personal forms/quizzes created from the Forms website
  • Group forms and Forms for Excel will continue to use their older solution for data sync
  • Microsoft plans to migrate all form types to the new solution

Availability
Due late January to early March 2024 with a Preview label. This means that Microsoft will continue to develop this feature for 3 to 6 months after release.
